The best part of being in a school is the various festivities and activities that we enjoy together. Baisakhi, Independence Day, Teacher’s Day, Janamashtami, Dusherra, Diwali, Christmas, Guru Puravs, Lohri, Republic Day and Basant Panchami are few of the colourful celebrations of our school that add a sense of belonging to our lives.

Standing for causes is the need of the hour and our students have ample opportunities through the session. We have tied up with the NGO – Her Hath Kalam, the Helpage Home at Village Rongala, Sai Vridh Ashram, the Blind School at Shekhupura for our philanthropic pursuits. We are fortunate that we have you, the parents, who show magnanimity in all these initiatives. We also have several cleanliness drives, street plays on social causes to reach out beyond the boundaries of the school.

Our vital component in the entire school’s functioning is our faculty. We offer our teachers a calendar of training programs that they are able to attend. You will be happy to know that our teachers have attended a total of 34 workshops in the last session conducted by the Delhi Public School Society and various other organizations like Oxford, CBSE and the Patiala Sahodaya Complex. Definitely, these learning opportunities have been enriching.

Now a word to all of you, dear parents. Remember, when families are involved in their child’s learning, both at home and in school, children always do better in school. Times now have changed and children today need your constant guidance and support. When | say support, this support should not be for the wrong endeavors. Keep in mind that when parents change their routine just because a child throws tantrums, they are teaching the child that he can have his power over them through inappropriate behavior. You need to put your foot down, when needed.

also use this platform to update you with the infrastructural enhancements that have been added for the students in the recent past. Our youngest students, the kindergarteners have now their own dedicated block, designed to suit their needs. An adjacent play-zone is under development. Also the school now has an air conditioned infirmary. Every year we upgrade our sports-zone as well, and this year we have almost doubled the size of the skating rink, as we have a huge multitude of skaters, especially in the primary classes. The lawn tennis court now has a concrete flooring to facilitate better action.

As the school is completing its 7 years, we are reaffirming our commitment towards our belief, that our focus is not to produce more professionals, more artists or sportspersons, but to create more complete human beings, who are critical thinkers, who have curious minds, who can lead productive lives.

Ending my report, | would like to state that we, me, my teachers and staff, will always strive to give the very best and befitting educational experience for our students. All this would not be possible without the incredible support and constant guidance of Mr. Ramesh Talwar, Pro Vice Chairman of Delhi Public School Patiala. It is his faith and inspiring presence that is taking Delhi Public School to greater heights.

I hope you will appreciate the performances of this evening and take back beautiful memories of this special occasion.

also seek the blessings of the almighty on each guest who is here today and on each member of DPS Patiala family. May all of you be abundantly blessed!

Thank you
