ANNUAL REPORT
Good Afternoon Everyone….
Distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. Rajan Singla, Honourable Guest of Honour, Dr. Amardeep Garg, esteemed dignitaries, respected members of the Management, ladies and gentlemen, and our fellow students. I, Nehmatjeet Kaur, and I, Jaiveer Singh Arora, the School Council Members of Delhi Public School Patiala, are deeply honoured to address you on this momentous occasion as we extend a warm welcome to our 12th Annual Function, “Anandotsav.”
It is our privilege to present the Annual Report for Delhi Public School Patiala, highlighting the achievements of the academic year 2023-24. Education has always been the bedrock of our school’s mission and we proudly celebrate the remarkable performance of our students in both the Class X and Class XII CBSE examinations.
The batch of 2023–24 brought laurels to the school with Gurnoor Kaur topping in the Humanities stream with 97.4%. Manseerat Kaur topped the Commerce stream with 96.6%, followed by Saksham Goyal at 96.2%. Lakshay Jain topped the Non-medical Stream with 95.4% while Hiya Khanna topped the Medical Stream with 97.4%, followed by Hridi Gupta who scored 96.2%. Their consistent hard work, comparable to students who choose to bachelorarbeit kaufen (buy a bachelor’s thesis), shows the dedication it takes to excel.
For class X CBSE Sukhleen Kaur and Akshita Kakkar topped the school by scoring 97%, followed by Harsimar Singh, Anadi Garg and Ishpreet kaur Billing all scoring 95.2%.
We are proud to share that Saksham Goyal secured an All India Rank of 199 and a State Rank of #2 in CLAT 2024. Saksham Goyal bagged the 42nd rank at the National Level in the All India Law Entrance Test 2024.
The academic year 2023-2024 has been a remarkable one for DPS Patiala, with our students securing admissions into some of the most prestigious institutions both in India and internationally. Hiya Khanna and Tejveer Singh joined the MBBS program at Govt. Medical College, Patiala, while Imaan Handa and Hridi Gupta are pursuing MBBS at Govt. Medical College, Amritsar, and AIIMS Bathinda, respectively. Abhijat Gupta has embarked on a journey in B.Tech (ECE) at PEC Chandigarh, and Hitesh has is pursuing B.Tech at IIT Delhi. Lakshya Jain is pursuing Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at IIIT Bangalore, and Manan Agarwal has secured a seat for Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bombay. Rishav Kumar is studying MBBS at DMC Ludhiana, and Vaishali Shukla is enrolled at Adesh Institute of Medical Science & Research, Bathinda. Saksham is pursuing a BA LLB at NLU Delhi, and Manseerat Kaur is studying BBA at Georgia Southern University, USA.
Moving on to our excellence in sports, we take pride in offering an exceptional sports program which has set the benchmark for other schools.
Pranit Kaura of Class IV secured 2nd position in the Road Lap and 3rd position in the 500 meters District Level Skating organized by the Punjab School Education Board. Brehmat Singh earned a bronze medal in state-level Skating Inline Hockey, with Dhiren Gupta won a bronze in the Sub Junior Skating Inline Hockey. Pavneet Singh Cheema bagged a Gold Medal in 100mtrs event organised by Punjab School Education Board.
Coming to the swimmers – Afreen excelled at the district level and at the Punjab state level earning a bronze medal in the 200m Freestyle. She also participated in the “Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan” State Level Competition secured 3 bronze medals: 200m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle, 4x100m Freestyle Relay along with a cash award of Rs 15000/-. Aditi Saldi of Class 8 participated in the Punjab State Swimming Championship where she secured a bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle. Aditi won a bronze medal in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay with a Rs 5000/- cash prize. Jaskirat Singh bagged a silver medal in the 100m Butterfly in Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan.
Aditi Saldi secured gold medals in 100m and 50m Freestyle events, along with a silver medal in the 200m Freestyle. In the U-14 boys category, Jaskirat Singh bagged a silver medal in the 100m Butterfly and a bronze medal in the 200m Freestyle. Additionally, in the U-19 boys category, Shaurya Garg earned a bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle and achieved state selections in both the 400m Individual Medley and 1500m Freestyle events., while Afreen earned a bronze medal in the 200m Freestyle. Both of them also participated in the “Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan” State Level Competition held in Mohali., Jaskirat won a silver medal in the 100m Butterfly Stroke, while Aditi secured a gold medal in the 50m Freestyle “Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan”
Jaskaran Singh triumphed with a gold and bronze in the State Skating Championship; Jaireet Kaur of Class VII clinched a Gold Medal at the Punjab State School Games in and also represented the school at the School National Games in Archery. Razveen Kaur of Class VIII bagged Silver in Archery at the 67th Punjab State School Games. while she won a silver in the U-14 Indian Round Archery, a bronze at the district level, along with a bronze at the Khedan Watan Punjab Diya competition.
Angel Garg of Class IX and her teammates clinched bronze medals in the prestigious “Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan” organized by the State Government.
DPS Basketball Boys U14 Team bagged Bronze Medals in the Sahodaya Inter-School Basketball Tournament hosted by Narian Public School.
Uday Pratap Bawa won the 1st Position in the U-17 Chess Championship (open) organised by Patiala District Chess Association, while Saksham Goyal stood 2nd. As a team, Saksham Goyal and Uday Pratap Bawa bagged the 3rd place in the prestigious Inter DPS Chess National Championship hosted by DPS Ballabhgarh competing with 85 DPS schools from all over India.
It is with immense pride that we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students at various inter-school competitions. At the Inter School Sahodaya Hindi Fest Hitansh Singla stood 1st in Poetry Recital while Khushkamal Kaur stood 2nd in the Ad Zap Contest. Muskaan, Karanveer Singh, Ajinkaya, Shreyansh, and Aniruddha as a team clinched the 3rd prize in the playlet contest.
In the Inter School Sahodaya Mathematics Fest Inayat Kansal stood 1st in the Poem Recitation event, while Arveen Kaur Cheema bagged 2nd prize in Poster Making.
At the Sahodaya English Fest 2023 Raanya Singla stood 1st in “Show and Tell” while the trio Mansejal Kaur, Ananya and Anant Sifat Kaur of Class VII won the 2nd position in “Spin a Yarn” Competition. Saksham Goyal won the 2nd position in English Debate
Adding to the success, Arshiya (Class XII) was awarded “Best Delegate UNCSW ” at DAV MUN 2023. At the BDPS MUN, Harshit Garg bagged a HIGH COMM Award & Umang Malhotra bagged the HIGH COMM award at the DAVMUN
At the Science Fair organized by MM Modi College, Saranya and Kashish bagged 2nd position in the Static Model display while Vibha and Vanshika Pathak secured 2nd in Poster Making.
In the Inter School Sahodaya Punjabi Fest Anant Sifat Kaur of Class 7 bagged 3rd place in Calligraphy contest, while Samreen kaur Awal bagged a consolation in the role play event.
We are thrilled to announce the stellar achievements at the Vigyan Mela 2023, hosted by DAV Public School, Patiala. Adarsh Patel and Gunvansh Singh secured the 1st position in the “Funk the Junk” competition while Prajval Kumra and Kaustubhi Singh brought home 1st place in the “Melodious Science” event, where their fusion of music and science captivated the judges.
Rehmat Sandhu stood 1st in the Sub-junior category for Kathak at the 35th All India Dance, Drama, and Music Festival.
Pranav Goyal and Alamjeet Singh of Class IX bagged the 1st position in the Inter School Quiz Contest on Road Safety and Traffic Rules organised by Dist. Red Cross Society during the 7th UN Global Road Safety week.
These outstanding performances reflect the dedication, talent, and spirit of our students, making us incredibly proud!
In the last session, we were recognized as the Emerging Star of the Year at the Cambridge English Annual Coordinators’ Conference 2023. Also, the Cambridge English Certificate Award ceremony in February 2024 saw the prestigious Cambridge University certificates awarded to 401 students.
DPS Patiala conducted 2 enriching AFS domestic school exchanges in the session 2023-24. A delegation of 5 girls and 1 boy visiting Maharaja Aggarsain Public School in New Delhi while an all-girls team of 5 travelled to Mumbai to connect with students at Children’s Academy, Ashok Nagar. We took great pride in hosting the delegations from both cities, showcasing true Punjabi hospitality. These exchanges fostered meaningful relationships among host families, enhancing participants’ experiences and broadening their horizons.
Nehmatjeet Kaur and Gurjot Kaur of class XI took part in the AFS North Zone Annual Meet on the 13th and 14th May 2023 hosted by Pinegrove School, Dharampur
Jashanjyot Singh and Atharv of Class IX, qualified and participated in the AFS National Rocketry and Rocket Launching Competition, “Look Upwards and Lead,” hosted by Sanjay Godhavat International School , Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
15 Class IX students undertook a two-day adventure journey to Sadhupul in March 2024, completing the final leg of their Duke of Edinburg Bronze Level Award program.
In alignment with our commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, we are proud to share highlights of last year’s initiatives. As is customary each year, our students of Class IX & X dedicated valuable time to engaging with the elderly residents at Sai Vridh Ashram and the Helpage Home at Rongala. The visits uplifted the spirits of the inmates of these homes.
Students of Cookery Club of DPS Patiala reached out to the needy – making and serving nutritive “khichdi” as a part of the AFS Activity on Global Youth Service Day 2023.
Our school successfully organized the first phase of its annual “Van Mahotsav” from July 16 to July 20, 2023, engaging students from Classes IV to VIII in a meaningful environmental initiative. 300 plants were planted, reflecting the students’ commitment to sustainability.
On August 19, 2023, DPS Patiala organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with the blood bank of Rajindra Hospital.This significant initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from our principal, faculty, and parents – demonstrating a strong community spirit.
Our school community joyously organized a series of grand-scale events in the bygone session, the prestigious Investiture and Scholar Badge Ceremony, the vibrant Winter Carnival, 1st edition of the Inter-School Sahodaya French Fest, the 3rd edition of DPSP MUN, the 1st Inter School Sahodaya Athletics Meet, 11th Annual Day and the exciting Playnight, the heart-warming Class XII Farewell ceremony and of course the colourful Annual Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony.
To celebrate a decade of excellence a special edition of the School Magazine titled “10 Years of Vision – The DPS Patiala Voyage” was release on December 11, 2023. The magazine was graciously released by Mr. Rahul Singh, an esteemed member of the Delhi Public School Society and Chairman of the School Managing Committee.
Enriching educational field visits were organised last session. In October, students of Classes IV and V visited “Mitti Organics,” to gained valuable insights into organic farming practices while class I & II visited the WJs Farm. 24 students from the commerce stream visited Kartar Agro Industries to understand industrial operations first hand. Class III students embarked on an educational excursion to the Head Post Office just to mention a few. Along with learning trips, adventure and fun trips are something that we the students really look forward to! The summer trip to Manali was truly exhilarating, while the winter trip to the iconic city of Agra was memorable !
A Science Exhibition was held at DPS Patiala. The students, under the guidance and supervision of their teachers created models of Robotic Cars, Automatic Fire Extinguishers, Organic Farming, Solar Panel, and many more revealing the excellence of the teaching and learning standard of DPS, Patiala
The school also celebrated the P.N PANICKER NATIONAL READING WEEK across the campus with a plethora of activities – from Mass Reading Sessions to Story Telling on the theme “Read & Grow”.
We also celebrated the International Yog Day 2023 in association with Patiala Sahodaya Schools Complex at NIS Patiala on 21st june.
Our school organized health initiatives to enhance student well-being – a BMI consultation camp, a skin check-up camp, a dental camp and an eye check-up camp in collaboration with the leading hospitals of the city.
As we come to a close, we would like to express our deep gratitude to Mr. Ramesh Talwar, our Pro Vice Chairman, and our dynamic Director, Mrs. Vandana Talwar, for their unwavering support and visionary leadership. Their enduring trust and guidance continue to be the driving forces behind the school’s ever-growing accomplishments year after year. We also extend our sincere thanks to our esteemed Executive Director, Mr. Sahil Talwar, whose dedication and forward-thinking approach have significantly contributed to our journey of progress.
A special mention goes to our respected Principal, Mr. Santosh Shukla, whose constant encouragement and innovative initiatives have opened new horizons for our personal and academic development. His leadership inspires us all to strive for excellence.
As we conclude, we humbly seek the divine blessings of the Almighty for our distinguished guests and the entire DPS Patiala family. May we all be showered with grace and abundance !
