The 5th Annual Graduation Ceremony held

All the tiny tots of Delhi Public School Patiala had their star-studded graduation ceremony held on Saturday, February 24th at Harpal Tiwana Auditorium. The little ones were very excited to receive their degrees in their black gowns and smart caps. The gala event was attended by all their parents and grandparents who were as excited as the kids.

The program started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest S.Kesar Singh Dhaliwal, SP Patiala, and the Guest of Honour S.Bikramjit Singh Bhullar, President, District Bar Association, Patiala, Principal S. N. Shukla and the Academic Coordinator Shveta Goyal.

The ceremony was filled with quite a buzz of energy built up by the dazzling performances of the young kids of kindergarten. 9 students of class I anchored the program and were much appreciated. The cultural program presented by students of Kindergarten and Class I ranged from Ganesh Vandana, the peppy welcome dance “Swag se Karenge Sabka Swagat”, Aerobic Panorama, a choreographic tribute to the mothers “Pyari Ma” to the rain dance. The performance on “Chotta Bheem” was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience and performance alike. The finale performance was of course the energetic Bhangra presented by the little dancers of Class I, which garnered a lot of enthusiasm from the audience.  It was a treat to watch the tiny tots give such confident performances.

The Chief Guest applauded the kids for their colourful and convincing performances. He addressed the common issues related to parenting and also motivated the teachers to sincerely put in their efforts to make the future citizens well-rounded individuals. The guests gave away the trophies and the degrees to each kindergartener.


Delhi  Public School Patiala organised a Cycle Rally to commemorate the World Cancer Day on 4th Feb 2018. The rally was flagged off at the  Children Memorial Roundtana by S.Manjeet Singh Brar(SP STF), S.Karnail Singh, SHO  Traffic  and the school Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla. The students were more than  enthusiastic as they pedalled along the rally route, being guided and  cheered by their teachers enroute.  The Rally culminated at the New Municipal Corporation Office. The event also promoted cycling for good healt.

All students were appreciated for the  efforts and were given away medals along with the event certificates.

Save Girl Child

The  students of Delhi Public School Patiala staged a street play reflectingthe  plight of the girl child  in our society today.This activity was carried outas the part of the  National Girl Child celebrations that were conducted bythe school. Key locations of Patiala like Chotti Baradari, City Centre,Omaxe Mall and Tripuri Market were covered by  the  all-girls group. Thestudents garnered a lot of appreciation for their confidence and  wonderfulportrayal of the roles designated to them. The objective of the event was tocreate a sense of importance and respect for the girl child.

Republic Day Celebrations

Session on PF Schemes 

A session  on the benefits of the  PF schemes was organised  at Delhi Public  School  Patiala today. The key speaker for the event was Mr.Sathish Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, PF Division.

He introduced the "Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Prothsahan Yojna" that was introduced by the  Govt of India and threw  light on the  benefits of  the  policy.

He encouraged the  workforce of the school to reap the  three-fold benefits of the scheme - Effective  Savings,  Insurance Cover and the Pension benefit after superannuation. 

The School Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla also motivated the helping staff members to save in time  for  a secure monetary gain in the  future. Mr.Sathish also apprised the audience with the  other employee benefit schemes of the government and suggested the use of the mobile app "UMANG".

Lohri Celebrations

The popular winter time Punjabi folk festival Lohri was celebrated at Delhi Public School Patiala. All  students from right from Kindergarten to XI were happy and excited to dance to the beats of the Dhol and they enjoyed the traditional snacks around the bonfire. The Bonfire was lit by the Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla. All teachers and students enjoyed the dance and the festive spirit of the occasion. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla conveyed his festive wishes to all the students and staff members.

Winter Carnival Celebrations 

Delhi Public School Patiala organised a Winter Carnival in its school premises at Reeth Kheri, Sirhind Road, Patiala on 24 December 2017. The release of colourful balloons by the Chief Guest Mr. Hobby Dhaliwal, a very well-known and popular actor of Punjabi movies,alongwith the guests of honour Dr. Mrs. AmarjeetRaikhifrom Raikhi Polyclinic & Hospital, Dr. Harshdeep Kaur from Amar Hospital and Mr. Balbir Singh Billing, a leading advocate, marked the inauguration of the carnival.

The school grounds pulsated with scintillating music and a lively crowd. The carnival had something in store for everyone be it children or adults. It was a day full of fun activities. The one-minute game stalls was one of the most awaited events of the carnival. The Pediatrician checkup camp, which was also a part of the carnival, clearly showed the school’s concern for the kids. A magic show by the magician Magambo attracted the kids as well as the elders. To top it all many stalls were put up for those who wanted to satisfy their taste buds.

The carnival provided parents as well as children an opportunity to have a lot of fun. Activities like tambola, lucky draw and exciting prizes ensured an unforgettable time with near and dear ones. The zest and zeal exhibited by an enthusiastic crowd of visitors and participants made the Winter Carnival 2017 a memorable one.

Pre-Christmas Activity - Candles Decorated in Kindergarten Section

Candle decoration activity was organised in the Kindergarten Section as a part of the Christmas Celebrations. The students had fun decking their candles up.

Students Visit Helpage Home at Village Rongla

Students of Class VIII were fortunate to pay an emotional visit to the elderly living at the Helpage Home situated at Village Rongala, Patiala., today, the 19th of December 2017 It was touching to see the elderly, who had been abandoned by their families have a  roof over their heads. HelpAge India has established model homes that take care of the needs of the sick and frail elderly. The students took along with them ration materials like Wheat Flour, Pulses, Rice, Sugar, Cooking Oil, Condiments and spices. It was nice to see the children spend time with the inmates of the home, and getting to know more about their bygone years too.Many students were teary eyed and promised to come back to the home with their families. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla also interacted with the inmates and encouraged the students to have a more loving attitude towards their elders at home.The time spent at the home was indeed a precious one, and all the students took back loads of blessings and memories.

Kabaddi Tournament 

The much awaited inter-house Kabaddi Tournament was organised on 16th of December 2017. Student teams were excited to give in their best to make their house win.It was spectacular to see girls play this game for the first time.

Inter School Athletic Multi-Meet

Delhi Public School Patiala organized Fourth Inter School Athletic MultiMeet in the campus today, the 8 th of December 2017. Golden Era School, Sushila Devi Public School, Apollo Public School, Pepsu International School and Delhi Public School participated. Cheema Karate Club also brought in 34 entries. The Guest of Honor for the occasion was the Mr.Jagtaar Singh Tiwana (AEO Sports), National player of Kabaddi along with Mr. Manjeet Singh, (DEO Sports) who were welcomed by the Principal Mr.S.N. Shukla. The ceremony began with formal March Past followed by Oath. The competition was held separately for boys and girls .The participants were high spirited. They did not try only to win over their opponents but also themselves. An array of events was- 100m ;200m; 400m; 800m,Shot Put, Discus Throw, Skating and Long jump. Chess was the added indoor event this time. The event was also graced by the ace cyclist of Patiala- Mr.Gurjeet Singh and he was also felicitated by the Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla. The Principal Mr. S.N Shukla along with the coaches, Academic Coordinator Ms.Shveta Goyal, bestowed the medals to the winners in the end of the event which made the participants more gung-ho to meet again the next year and there was no school left without the prize in its lap. 

Inter School Sahodaya Debate

Ayesha Gupta & Avirag Kaur of Class 9  participated in the debate competition held at Blossoms Senior Secondary School on 4th December 2017. This event was organised by the Patiala Sahodya Complex. The topic of the debate was "The Sustaining Pluralism in India would be essential for alleviating poverty". Mr. B.M.Singh (IRS) , the sponsor for this event presided over the entire proceedings "Brig. Manmohan Singh Memorial Inter School Debate". Ayesha Gupta bagged the special prize for the Best Orator - with a cash award of 1000/- . 

Mehtab Singh nails it at the  63rd National School Games
Mehtab Singh - won a Bronze at the 63rd National School Games held at Pune on the 5th of December 2017. His event was 10 mt Rifle Shooting .The entire DPS PAtiala family is elated at this very proud achievement.

Special Assembly on Martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji

Classes VIII (Aristotle & Socrates) dedicated the morning assembly on the 23rd of November  in the memory of the supreme sacrifices of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. The students spoke about the role of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji against the atrocities of the then Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. An enactment was also presented. Students also recited poetic verses in Punjabi on the sacrifices of this great Martyr.

Hand-wash Session for Class I

The in-house doctor of DPS Patiala, Dr. Rishma, conducted an interactive and a practical session on washing hands, The students were demonstrated the correct and proper technique of washing their hands. She emphasized the importance of maintaining the hand hygiene all times.

Students visit the Gurudwaras

The students of Classes I-III visited the Gurudwara located at Village Baran while the students of classes IV-V paid a visit to the Motibagh gurudwara The students learnt about the historical significance of these places of worship. They also offered their prayers. The authorities at the Gurudwaras appreciated the time spent by the students and teachers to learn the history behind the shrines.

Little Achievers 

Delhi Public School organized the Annual Inter-Play School event “Little Achievers”. Students from 7 popular playschools entered the campus on DPS Patiala along with their teachers. Parents of the little ones were also present to cheer them. The schools that participated were – Bachpan Preparatory (Urban Estate), Kid’z Castle, Strawberry Kids (Bharpur Gardens), GAD’s Preparatory, Little Pumpkins & Hello Kids. The children enjoyed the races and the coloring contests organized on this occasion. All winners were given the medals in the medal ceremony. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla congratulated the winners and thanked the playschools for their massive participation.

Sports Athletic Meet

The vibrant sports day for classes I-III  was held on 30th Nov. 2017,Thursday in the school. The program began with an impressive march past by the students of class III followed by a drill performed by the youngsters of class II and an oath-taking ceremony. The Principal, Mr. S.N. Shukla , then declared the event open and motivated the students to give their best in the field. Each section of all the classes participated in an obstacle race and another fun race .The coordinator, Ms. Shveta Goyal, encouraged the little champs and applauded the effort of the eager students. The much enjoyed athletic event ended with the prize distribution and the National Anthem.

Kindergarten Sports Athletic Meet

Sports bring to one spirit of life, spirit of competition and ultimately the spirit to participate. Delhi Public School Patiala was delighted to organize the Annual sports day of kindergarten  on 29.11.17. The day begin with march past followed by drill. The children had participated relentlessly.  Many fun races were conducted like ' two in one race', ' hanky ball race', ' bucket race', 'hurdle race'. The children were divided into different teams. Our sports day was a great success.

A Children's Day with a Difference

On 14th November, the students of Delhi Public School Patiala reached out to the destitute children on the roads of Patiala  to convey the Children's Day wishes to them. The students presented the children with a flower chocolate,crayons with a coloring book to each of the children they met, who were into begging for their daily needs. The students encouraged the children to try get education by joining schools to get themselves educated.
This gesture was as a part of the anti-begging campaign of the district administration. 

Kindergarten Celebrates the Birthday of Mickey & Minnie Mouse

The kindergarten wing students of Delhi Public School Patiala had a gala time celebrating the birthday of the famous cartoon characters Mickey and Minnie, which falls on the 18 th of November. Their teachers made this celebration special for them by giving them a surprise. The children were in awe as they saw Mickey & Minnie as they entered the assembly ground on a bike. Both of them danced along with the children on their popular dance numbers. The  celebration was colourful with all the kids dressed in pink. Mickey and Minnie also cut a cake, much to the delight of the tiny-tots, who also gave gifts to their beloved heroes. The celebration was much appreciated by the Principal, Mr. S.N.Shukla.

The Diwali Mithai Mela

It was a festive mood at DPS Patiala on the 17th of October, with the festival of lights fast approaching. All students of classes VI-VIII were excited as they prepared for the inter-house "Mithai Mela", a fire-less cooking contest. Each house was designated one room, which was aesthetically set for the event. Each of the 4 houses laid out 6 desserts, lovingly prepared by their student teams of VI-VIII. The ingredients varied from chocolate powder to dates to coconut-shreds to fresh-fruits. It was amazing to see the creative sense of the students as they displayed their dishes with a lot  of colour. 
Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla alongwith with the judges of the event, was given a warm and traditional welcome in all the 4 rooms.


Visit to Deaf & Dumb School

Students of classes III & IV visited the Deaf & Dumb School located at Village Shekhupura, Patiala. The students observed the candle making process by the special students and also understood the way in which the visually challenged students read their study material using Braille. All students enjoyed buying candles in preparation for the upcoming festival of lights. 

DPS Girls Athletes bring laurels to the school at the CBSE Cluster Level Games

Sakshi Kushwaha and Parneet Kaur bagged a Bronze each in the 100 Mtrs sprint and 400 Mtrs race respectively in the CBSE Cluster Level Athletic Meet that were organized at the DAV Public School, Cheeka. 

DPS Athletes shine at the Punjab School Games (Zonal Level)

After a huge haul of medals and accolades for the team events at the Zonal Level of Punjab School Games, it was the turn of the Athletes of the school to show their mettle. Sakshi Kushwaha, the Sports Captain of the school bagged a Gold each in the 100 Mtrs and 200 Mtrs. She also got a bronze for Long Jump.  Parneet Kaur of Class VIII bagged a Gold in the 400 Mtrs race, while Poonamdeep Kaur bagged a Bronze in the same event.  In the events for boys, Rajdeep Singh, the Sports Captain of the school bagged the Gold in the Discus Throw and a Silver for Shot-Put. Priyanshu bagged a Gold in the 100 Mtrs sprint, while Babanjot Singh received a Silver for his performance in the 400 Mtrs race.

DEAR Period - the new initiative to promote reading "ON-CAMPUS" 

Entire Staff, starting from the school guards, helping staff, teaching & non-teaching staff all the students of DPS Patiala from Class I-X were involved in reading for a duration of an hour on the 4th of October 2017.The slot was aptly named Drop Everything And Read or the DEAR Period. This was another innovative initiative taken to promote the habit of reading amongst all. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla in his message stated this would be a regular feature of the school.

Book Fair

A 2-day book-fair for students was organised in the school premises on the 6th & 7th of October. On 6th, students enjoyed browsing and selecting the books of their interest, while on 7th October, they bought the books with the help of their parents, who were present for the term-end PTM, The fair benefited the avid readers of the school, who had ample time to select and buy the books of their choice.

Robotics Exhibition

On 7th of October 2017, select students of DPS Patiala showcased their working Robots in the AV Hall of the school. It was a delight for the parents to see the students demonstrate the working of the Robots accompanied with the apt narratives too. The students were appreciated by the parents. 

Poster Making on "Clean India Green India"

As a part of the array of cleanliness activities being carried out in the "Swachta Fortnight", students of class Vi & VII were involved in a Poster-making contest. The children made expressive posters that reflected their thoughts on the theme of the event. The apt guidance for the event was provided by the Art Teacher. The results of the contest are to be announced on the 6th of October.
Workshop on Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness
Dr.Rishma Kohli conducted an interactive workshop on "Workshop on Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness" for the girls of Class VIII-X. The interactive session cleared many a myth from the minds of the girls regarding menarch and other issues that they faced as a part of growing up. An animated movie along with a descriptive presentation made the session very informative and interesting. Dr. Rishma motivated the students to take things in their stride and not be bogged down by the physcal difficulties thereof. 

Rally for a Cleaner World !!

As a part of the Cleanliness Fortnight - the "SWACHTA FORTNIGHT" being observed at DPS Patiala, students of Classes 1-3 carried out a rally in the premises of the school and also outside the school gates lining the school road. The little ones exhibited an exuberant attitude while repeating the slogans after their teachers, in a bid to make their message for a better, cleaner India, reach across. Attractive banners and slogans made the whole event a super success. The little ones were indeed effective in their objective.

Hindi Elocution Contest 

Students of classes IX & X participated in the elocution on the importance of cleanliness and the need for a renewed vision to make India cleaner and greener. This activity was organized for giving a platform to the young minds to share their opinions on the current drawbacks that have made India in the environmental status  that it is. A "Swachta Pledge" was also taken by the students. 


Delhi Public School, Patiala organised a trip to ’Virasat-e-khalsa’, Anandpur Sahib and Gurudwara on 29th September.181 students escorted by 13 teachers were a part of it. Buses started from Patiala at 8.00am and reached the destination at 11.00am. After having registered ourselves,students were divided into four groups and subsequently entered turn wise. This structure was made built by the then Chief minister of Punjab Mr Prakash Singh Badal .Its indeed a fabulous and wondrous structure.Inbuilt with all wooden architecture,patch work,lightening work, lazer lights,water fall, slide filming, malanquins appeared to be real humans. All the depictions were in Hindi,Punjabi and English.On the whole the structure is an amalgamation of history of Punjab-Sikhism,invasions by Mughals,  intervention by British and post independence period. Students were overwhelmed and inquisitive to see this.They got motivated to come again with their families and spend quality time.After this we proceeded to Gurudwara Anandpur Sahib,where we paid obeisance and had langar. From here the trip started back for Patiala. We had a halt at Fatehgarh Sahib Gurudwara for water break. In the  true sense, it was an educational trip and a great learning for the students.  

Cleanliness Drive by DPS Patiala

In the pursuit of a cleaner tomorrow, there was a cleanliness drive organized at the local Environment Park by the students of  Delhi Public School Patiala, today, the 27th of September 2017. This initiative was a part of “A Clean India” program launched by our honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Narender Modi. The Principal of the school, Mr.S.N.Shukla encouraged children to enthusiastically participate in the cleanliness drive following the directions of the DPS Society and make the movement “Swachata hi Seva” a huge success.  

Ravan Mask Making 

Kindergarteners prepared for the first major festival of the season "Dusherra". The last day before the Dusherra break was spent in making bright "Ravan" masks were made and the same were given to the students as take-aways.Children were more than thrilled to take the masks back home.

Kindergarteners went in for some fun time with their teachers to the local Verka Park. They enjoyed the swings with their friends and had their picnic food too. The little ones spent the time at the ark playing team games with their classmates.

A Colourful Grandparents Day at DPS Patiala

The Grandparents of the Kindergarten Section were brimming with excitement and happiness as they entered the premises for the celebration of the Grandparents Day.
The entire team of Kindergarten - teachers and students, left no stone unturned to make the event a memorable and a nostalgic one. Children of KG-1 & KG-2 were more than happy to present peppy dance numbers and their performances touched the hearts of all present. Grandparents most enthusiastically participated in the fun-games organised by the teachers and the smiles on the faces of the winners was a proof of their sense of achievement.  The ladies became the style icons with their very "retro-ramp-walk". 
Open invites were given to the grandparents to participate in the "Hasya Kavita Pratiyogita" and the poems left everybody in splits.
The wonderful event ended with a happening dance party, with everyone in attendance tapping their feet to the popular dance numbers. 
Mr.S.N.Shukla, the school principal expressed his thoughts and compared the grandparents to a Banyan Tree, and reiterated the fact that the contribution of grandparents in the upbringing of young children was most valuable. The Academic Coordinator of the school Ms.Shveta Goyal expressed her gratitude and thanked each grandparent for having spared the time to make the event a grand success. The grandparents thanked the school authorities for this annual event, which was most looked-forward by all the elderly of the DPS Family. 

Hindi Diwas Celebrated 

14th of September was celebrated as the "Hindi Diwas" at Delhi Public School Patiala. A signature campaign was carried out for the students,who pledged to respect their National Language and share the pride of being an Indian. They also saluted the richness of the language. The campaign was started off with a beautiful quote in Hindi by the Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla.  He encouraged students not to ignore Hindi, in spite of the fact that every individual was busy garnering the nuances of English and his own vernacular mother tongue.
Earlier in the week, a creative assembly in Hindi was presented by the students of class VI Ramanujan, comprising of the news section and an enactment lauding the rich legacy of Hindi.


All the teachers and students of K.G.I (BUDS & BLOOMS) came dressed in the Royal Purple Colour to mark the Purple Day Celebration  on the 13th of September 2017. Thematic rhymes and stories were also enjoyed by the kids. The little ones, along with their teachers, created  beautiful "Brinjal Headgears" and also adorned the attractive creation on their heads. This activity was to reinforce the colour sense for the colour "purple" in the students. Purple day was celebrated in pre-primary wing on 15th September. Students came in dressed-purple attires. They created wonderful patterns using cotton dabbing on the eye-masks cut-outs.

Kindergarten Visit to Super market: 

Students of  Kindergarten section visited a Super Mart on the 8th of September 2017. the purpose of the visit was to create an understanding amongst the students on how to shop for grocery and other products. The students were told about the concept of self service and how they could pick the products of their choice from the aisles. The children enjoyed the informative visit.

Inter-House Presentation Contest on "Nuclear Threat"

On 19th of August 2017 students of Class IX & X presented PowerPoint presentations on the looming threat of a Nuclear War in the years to come. This was an activity to create an awareness on the Nuclear Power that is becoming the biggest threat to the very existence of mankind on this planet. A lot of research went into the presentations. All the students participated in the presentations of their respective houses. Charts were also made to add to the impact of the presentation. The event was an eye-opener and a rich learning experience for the students, commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki.

Story-time for Kindergartners !!
A Story telling competition was held in pre-primary wing on the 29th of August.  Students enthusiastically participated in it and narrated their favorite stories with props. It was indeed a fun time for all the listeners too, as they had umpteen stories to enjoy. 
JAM Activity for Teachers' Day
The kindergartners were asked to express their love and admiration for their favorite teacher.The little ones had composed the lines for the activity with the help of their parents. The lines left the teachers emotional and they felt truly loved by their adorable children.
Bouquets, Bouquets & Bouquets !!

Students of KG2 were involved in the bouquet making activity. Being a group activity, the students were thrilled to assemble the flower cut-outs into a bouquet with their peers. The bouquets were presented to Mr.S.N.Shukla and to the various teachers with Teachers' Day wishes too !!

The eagerly awaited Teachers Day was celebrated on the 4th of September with a lot of enthusiasm by Kindergartners. On this occasion, a Bookmark making  activity was done by the kids of KG-1 (Buds & Blooms). The children made beautiful bookmarks for wishing their teachers a very HAPPY TEACHERS DAY. The students also greeted Mr.S.N.Shukla on the occasion and presented a bookmark along with a card of wishes. 


Teachers Day Celebrated

The Teacher's Day was celebrated with much pomp and festivities in the campus. The assembly was organised by the school student council. A special prayer for the teachers was rendered by Shubhneet Kaur , after which Jhanvi song the beautiful number "Jab koi baat bigad jae.." and dedicated it to the teachers. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla wished all the teachers and motivated them to serve the children with a spirited involvement. All teachers were called on the stage for the cake cutting.
This was followed by a cultural presentation of the students of class VIII-X. Each teacher was given a title with a song dedicated to him/her by the students. It was indeed wonderful to watch the children and teachers tap their feet to the popular numbers. There was a treasure hunt organised for the teachers too, which left the teacher team panting for breath as they scurried across the fast campus in the search for the treasure. The celebration with the students ended with a dance party.
A staff lunch was organised for teachers. It was the time for teachers to unwind and share their experiences as teachers. All teachers went home with a lot of loving wishes in their hearts and a smile on their faces.

Achievements in Swimming in the District Level (Punjab School Games)

Swimming (U-11) Afreen stood 3 rd at the District Level (Bronze Medal) in the 50 Mt Back Stoke , Breast Stroke and Butterfly stroke.
Swimming(U-11) Afreen stood 2 nd at the District Level (Silver) Individual Medley and 50mts Free-Style.
Swimming(U-11) Amreen stood 3 rd at the District Level (Bronze) Individual Medley and 1 st (Gold) in the 50mts Butterfly Stroke
Swimming(U-14) Nikita stood 1 st (Gold Medal) at the District Level 50mts Breast-stroke. She stood 2 nd (Silver Medal) at the District Level 200 mts Breast-stroke.
Swimming(U-14) Sonal stood 3 rd (Bronze Medal) at the District Level 200mt Back Stroke
Swimming(U-14) Abhya stood 3rd (Bronze Medal) at the District Level 50mts Breast-Stroke
Swimmers Sonal, Nikita, Abhya and Vikrant have qualified for the State Level.


Dental checkup camp

Free Dental check up camp was organized at DPS Patiala in collaboration with Luxami Bai Dental College, Patiala on 17th and 18th of August for classes Nur. to 10th. Students were made aware about the importance of dental hygiene. Doctors also explained about the correct methods of brushing to students. 


Fun Trip to Hardy's World Amusement Park 

The students of Std 1 to 5 of Delhi Public School Patiala went for a One Day Fun Trip to Hardy's World Amusement Park, Ludhiana on 12th August, 2017 with their teachers.  They enjoyed different fun rides and especially the adventurous water rides.  Rain dance was enthralling for them. They enjoyed the lunch and came back in a jovial mood. It was a fun- filled trip for them.


Anti Begging Rally

The students of classes 6-10 of the Delhi Public School Patiala participated in the Anti-Begging Rally that was organized by the District Administration Patiala. This venture was a big step towards making the erstwhile royal city of Patiala a beggar-free city. Through this initiative, the district administration looks forward to uplift the destitute people and at the same time, break the nexus of the people who are making begging a business for easy earning. All educational institutions of the district participated in this mega event. Students of DPS Patiala along with their teachers enthusiastically participated in the human chain that moved through the city, holding hand-made posters with slogans to create awareness. 22 students of DPS also presented an impressive street play to showcase the negativities of begging and also the plight of the beggars as such. Principal of the school Mr.S.N.Shukla stated that that his school would stand by all initiatives to make the city a better and safe place for all.

Monaco Time !!  

On the 9th of August, the Kindergarteners were thrilled and excited to participate in the "Lets top the Monaco Cookies !!"  They eagerly participated in the activity and created 
tempting presentations of Monaco Cookies with the help of their HRTs. After all the hard work, the little ones shared the delicacy with their friends and teachers. They also 
offered some to the Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla, who appreaciated their taste and efforts.


Kindergarten celebrates Friendship  

The kindergarten section carried out a Toy donation activity on the 8th August 2017. This was to celebrate the friendship day.
All the kindergartners brought toys from home and donated the same at Shakuntla Devi School  (orphanage home). 
The joy of the givers and the receivers was eminent with the smiles on the faces. This is an annual feature of the school and is looked
 forward by the little ones.

Kindergarteners create Tri-Color Crafts !!

The students of Kindergarten section had a Tri-Color activity to mark the upcoming Independence day of the Nation.The spirit of freedom was spread all over with the splash of the colors.The little ones enjoyed the Tri-color sponge printing on paper kite cutouts.Their enthusiasm was easily seen on the faces as they sang patriotic song "Nanha Munna Raahi Hoon" and swayed to the music of the number..

Inter House “Taste of India” Contest

The students of class IX-X enthusiastically participated in the inter-house contest “Taste of India” . The students along with the house teachers portrayed the culture, cuisine, heritage and traditions of the states allotted to them. It was enlightening to watch the efforts put in by the students to give their best performance to put up an impressive show. The display charts, tables , floral “rangolis”, music and presentations of song, dance and drumbeats gave a festive look to the rooms designated. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla was awed by the presentation of the houses and appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers.

Deworming Drive

A de-worming drive was organised by the Medical Department of DPS Patiala in collaboration with the District Health Department.
Students, with the consent of their parents, were administered the dosage by the school doctor Dr.Rishma Kohli.

Paper bag making

Kindergartners made beautiful paper-bags with the help of their HRTs on the 31st of July 2017. This activity was a part of the on-going series of activities to mark the month long  "Go Green" celebrations of the school. The young students were told about the negatives of using plastic bags and were told to take home the message of "Paper is Better"..."No to plastic" . 
The activity was enjoyable with the little hands working their way to create the colorful paper bags.

Inter-DPS Vocal Team shines at Swaranjali 2017

The Inter-DPS Vocalists made a fantastic mark in the Inter-DPS Hindustani Music Festival “Swaranjali 2017”. The must awaited fest was organized at DPS Amritsar on the 29th of July 2017. The students Shubhneet Kaur, Jahanvi Bansal, Khushi Arya, Riyaz Gaba, Simranjot Kaur with the accompanists Ayesha Gupta (Harmonium), Kuljot Singh (Tabla), Aarav Rana (Guitar) were trained on the patriotic group song “Tune bulandi ko chuna hai…” by the music in-charge of the school, Mr.Lovepreet Singh. They were declared second runners-up in the event; Aarav Rana received a special mention from the judges for his fabulous performance on the guitar. Jahnavi Bansal rendered the sufi number “more khwaja ghar ae..” in her soulful voice, in the solo category.

The Cricket Teams (boys) of class IV-V, VI-VIII, IX-X participated in the Inter-House Cricket Series that

was organized in the school campus from the 27 th -29 th of July 2017. The week prior to that was spent

in planning and strategizing the game by the house captains.

The Baradari Garden Picnic

The kindergarteners had a fun day out at the Baradari Gardens in the heart of the city. Chirping their way to the gardens in the school buses, the students were excited for some fun time out on a cloudy day. Once at the gardens, students enjoyed fun games with their lovely teachers.
They also partied with the picnic food they carried along.

Plantation Drive 

In the pursuit of a greener tomorrow, there was a plantation drive organized at the Delhi Public School Patiala, today, the 27 th of July in collaboration with Madhav Alloys Pvt Ltd. Representing the firm for the plantation drive were Mr. Rajesh Jindal,Director (HR) and Mr. Harvinder Singh (DGM, Operations),who, along with the Principal of DPS Mr.S.N.Shukla, planted the saplings in the lush campus of the school. Mr.S.N.Shukla welcomed the beautiful initiative and enthusiastically participated in the plantation process, along with students of class II. Children enjoyed planting and watering the saplings, and they were thrilled to learn that they were to visit their plant for watering on a daily basis.In all 75 fruit saplings were planted on the occasion.

Assembly on the "Power of Numbers" 

Class 4 Kautilya presented a dynamic assembly on the 27th of July 2017. The students narrated the significance of each number starting from1 to 9 and 0, relating them to scientific, mathematical and real-life facts. Each child was appreciated for the clarity and confidence as they shared their facts. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla appreciated the students for their effort. 
On this occasion, three junior champions of the Olympiads were also honoured in the assembly.  Mst Pranav Goyal of Class III bagged a Gold Medal, a merit certificate and a
cash award of Rs.5000/- for securing the first place in the Zonal Level of the 19th National Science Olympiad. He also was declared 3rd at the Zonal Level for the 16th National Cyber Olympiad.Mst Ekam Sandhu received a Silver Medal and a cash award of Rs. 2500/- for securing the Zonal Level 2nd rank in the 1st International Sports & Knowledge Olympiad.
Mst. Pranav Mukesh was a proud recipient of the Zonal Gold Medal as he stood first in the 10th International Maths Olympiad.
The champions were appreciated for the hard-work and determination and were wished luck for the future endeavours by the Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla.


DPS lad - an ace shooter !!

Mst. Mehtab Singh of class VII yet again brought laurels to the school in the shooting tournaments held recently.
He won 3 silvers in the Junior, Senior and Youth categories in the district level tournament organized at the Cambridge International School
by the Punjab State Rifle Shooting Association. At the state level, Mehtab was the proud recipient of the Gold Medal in the youth category, 
and a silver in the junior category. He was appreciated by the school Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla and motivated to achieve greater heights in the 
upcoming endeavours.

Kindergartners enjoy the  Green Day !!

The environmental heroes of kindergarten enjoyed the Green Day on the campus of DPS Patiala. The whole kindergarten section of DPS Patiala was painted green with the vibrant 

hues of the green-shaded dresses of the students. They also raised slogans for a greener world. The highlight of the day was the plantation of 5 lush bottle palms along the front boundary-wall of the school. The tiny hands tried to enthusiastically participate in the plantation, where they were helped by their HRTs too. The drive was led by the Principal

Mr.S.N.Shukla, who encouraged the tiny-tots to be active in making the planet greener.


Learning with Fun 

Students of Class I went out for an educational outing to the nearby Nandpur Keshon on Saturday, the 15th of July 2017 This outing was a part of the activity connected with the EVS topic "Our Neighbourhood". 
Students visited the post-office, the hospital, the bank and a school too. Students loved the outing with their teachers, where they learnt the importance of these institutions in a locality. They also enjoyed their picnic food in the lawns of the government school there. Post-lunch, the children enjoyed a visit to the lush green paddy fields before they came
back to their school.

The 2nd Level Olympiad Certificates given away 

Students who qualified and attempted the 2nd level of the various Olympiads were given away their Merit Certificates
in the morning assembly on the 13th of July 2017 by the Academic Coordinator Ms.Shveta Goyal.


Closing Ceremony 

The 5th Annual Summer Camp of Delhi Public School Patiala came to a fabulous  end with the closing ceremony. The 10-day camp offered students various disciplines for both fun & learning. Swimming, Cricket, Basketball, Skating, Football, Athletics & Martial Arts were some of the outdoor field activities that the students enjoyed. Students also picked up skills in Dramatics, Cooking, Aerobics, Art & Craft, Calligraphy, Fun with Science, Robotics in collaboration with STEMROBO, Memory Boost & Speed Maths in collaboration with Mohd. Faizal, Contemporary Dance Forms, Personality Development and Spoken English.

The closing ceremony saw the display of exhibits from the Calligraphy, Art & Craft and Cookery activities. Performances from the dramatics, music & dance groups impressed one and all. All the participants were given away their certificates. The gala event came to an end with a happening dance party.

To beat the heat and to have fun, a rain dance party was arranged for pre primary kids. The day was spiced up with lots of fun. There was lot more in the store students with "Live Cartoons on Campus" as the kindergarteners trotted up and down 

dressed up as different cartoon characters, probably their favourite ones!!!

The students were also treated with chilled water melon juice and a healthy sprouts salad.

The budding chefs went home with filled-up bellies and happy mouths!! The last day before the summer vacation 

was indeed a happening day for the chirpy kindergarteners..



Assembly : Happy Summer Vacation

Students of Class X presented the special assembly on the last working day before the annual summer break. Tips and Tricks to use the Summer Vacation 

in the most effective manner were shared, so that a well-balanced vacation could be enjoyed by all the students.

On this occasion, Mst.Japsimar Singh shared his thoughts on the 5th Sikh Guru Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, whose martyrdom day falls on the 30th of May this year.

Ms.Lovepreet Kaur recited a beautiful poem on fathers - our real life heroes and conveyed the father's day wishes to everyone. 

All achievers of the activities for the month of May were given away their excellence certificates too !!! 


Icecream Party -"Licks and Slurps"

The students of classes 1 -3 enjoyed the much-awaited ice cream party to beat the summer heat.

The thrill and joy were all evident on their faces as they enjoyed the ice-creams just before the summer break.

They lined up eagerly to choose the flavour of their choice from the vendor. It was indeed exciting for the little ones 

to relish the chilling dessert with their pals.

Annual Adventure Trip 

 The Annual Adventure Trip for the session 2017-18 was organized and open for the classes IV-X. In all, 45 students opted to go for the trip which was planned for Dhanaulti-Musoorie and Dehra Dun. The four escort teachers accompanying the students were – Ms.Vineeta Sharma, Ms. Amanjyot Kaur, Ms.Tanu and Mr.Lovepreet Singh. 

the group reached Camp Carnival located at a height of 7,800 feet.  Students were then taken on a 3 hour trek through the Dark forest of  Kanatal. The fresh flora and the thick vegetation was a feast to the eyes. The eco-park visit was also enjoyed by the students . The Kempty Falls visit was a exhilarating experience for the students, enjoying the freshness of the water. 

The students were  taken to the Wax Museum and the Municipal Gardens at Musoorie. The wax statues at the museum were attractive and well-made, and were of eminent personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekanand, Princess Diana, Angelina Jolie, Adolf Hitler  to name a few. At Dehra Dun, the students visited the Forest Research Institute. The children were in awe to see the magnificent campus at the FRI. They visited the various museums that had exclusive display of the rich forest products and models depicting the vegetative resources of the forests. 

The children were taken the Robber’s Cave and then to an ancient temple, popular due to its rich historic significance – The Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple located in the heart of the Dehra Dun City. The trip was fun-filled with a learning exposure for all the students. 

Kindergarten Yellow Day Celebration

Kindergarten students of DPS Patiala celebrated ‘Yellow day’ in a fun manner.The children and the teachers were dressed in yellow coloured attire. Some children also got yellow colour objects from home. The classrooms were decorated with yellow balloons, streamers and other yellow coloured objects. The teachers also prepared sunflower petal crowns. It was an enjoyable way of learning more about yellow colour.

Exclusive Workshop on Vedic Maths 


Thematic Assembly on "Cleanliness is next to Godliness"

Students of class V Vivekanand presented a creative assembly on the theme "Cleanliness is next to Godliness". The students depicted various situations where people ignored the cleanliness aspect of the environment around themselves through enactments.The rib-tickling humour added to the interest of the entire assembly in attendance. Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla encouraged students to follow the message given in the assembly and also told them to go out of their way to guide their friends, family and neighbours regarding the importance of cleanliness.

Kindergarten Conceptual Activities 

The KG II students had fun as they learnt “What come Between” with the help of a colorful activity. They also had fun learning to spell three letter words with another colourful activity planned by their teachers.

Circus Day Celebrations

Laughter rang all over the corridors  as classes I-III enjoyed dressing  up as clowns and behaving  like them too. Students wore colourful costumes with appreciable efforts put in from the mothers of the little jokers. The colourful frills, floral collars, 3D pin-ups, creative masks , tapering caps and exotic wigs made the little ones the best jokers ever. The students enjoyed to romp around like jokers and a few also managed to demonstrate their circus tricks, must to the joy of their peers. They enjoyed  dancing and  even watched video  clips showing hilarious comical joker acts in circus shows. Teachers also thoroughly enjoyed the day and even mingled with the children, concealing their faces with the joker accessories !!

Eye Checkup Camp

Students of classes V to X were examined in a free eye check-up camp at DPS Patiala. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Global Eye Care Hospital Patiala. Dr. Manpreet Singh was the visiting ophthalmologist on the occasion. He, along with his team, examined students for their vision and all other minor/major issues related to eyes. The camp, which started off at 10:00 am, managed to examine around 300 students through the day. Dr. Rishma, the school doctor stated that in the upcoming week, students of Kindergarten and the primary wing would also be screened for vision and eye related ailments, if any.



An English Declamation was organised for the students of Classes IX and X. The topics of choice for the contest were

* India & Science

* India & Space

* India & IT. 

All the students participated in this activity which demanded research and also fine oratory skills too.

Mother's Day @ DPS Patiala

Students of Delhi Public School Patiala made beautiful preparations for the upcoming Mother's Day in this weekend. A touching choreography in the assembly by the students of Class V made it an emotional start of the day. Senior students geared up for the "FIne Dine with your Mom" event, but the eye-catcher of the entire series of mother's day events was the "Wall of Love Notes" - where children poured their hearts out to express their love for their Mothers.The teachers joined in too to add to the wall of heart-to-heart messages !!  The primary and Kindergarten sections also had special assemblies dedicated to mothers.

Principal of the school Mr.S.N.Shukla , while addressing the students, said that Mothers were the living Gods and encouraged children to love and respect their Mothers. He hoped that students would do everything to make their mothers proud. 

The Kindergarten JAM Activity

Students of Kindergarten participated actively in JUST-A-MINUTE activity held on 12th MAY 2017.The tiny tots recited rhymes and a few of them spoke few lines about their MOM's.The confidence shown by the kids was worth appreciating. They all showed their love for their mom's in their own individual and cute little ways. Well Done Cards  were distributed ato the best performers as a token of appreciation.

Lemonade Party - The Tangy Time !!

Students of classes IV & V tried to beat the heat in this sun-drenched summer by organizing a refreshing lemonade party on the 6th of May 2017. The class Teachers demonstrated the procedure of making lemonade and children also participated with a lot of enthusiasm. The activity was fun as each child squeezed the lemons and adding the sugar spoons brought by him/her. Some sections also added mint leaves to their lemonade adding that extra zing into the drink.The activity was meant to give the students a hands-on experience of making lemonade. Students were encouraged to make the summer drink for their parents and grandparents. Students also enjoyed an animated movie too.

Traffic Rules Awareness Workshop

An interesting and interactive workshop on awareness of rules and regulations to practiced on roads was conducted by Mr. Gurjap Singh, ASI Traffic Education Cell. Students of class IX and X attended this workshop, which was also attended by SP S.Manjeet Singh and Mr.S.N. Shukla too.  The workshop was made all the more interesting with the support of multiple videos and presentations. Children enjoyed the session and clarified many doubts they had. 


Mother’s Day was celebrated in DPS Patiala on 06.05.17 to pay tribute to the child’s first teacher, first friend, and first fan- Mother. Mothers of classes K.G.I to Class III were invited to come to the campus and enjoy the competitions and activities planned for them. Many competitions were organized like Dance, Story-telling, Healthy Tiffin packing with Food without fire and innovative Teaching Aid making. Mothers and their children left no stone unturned to  showcase their talents in all the contests. The best performers were duly distributed to the jubilant winners. The event Concluded with a dance party


On the bright sunny day of 6th May 2017 deserving young leaders of Delhi Public School Patiala were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their school with their commitment, confidence and competence. All the students and teachers cast their vote for the nominated students for different posts.Mr. Manjeet Singh Brar, SP (Special Task Force) Patiala graced the occasion with his presence. The school held the Investiture Ceremony with a lot of enthusiasm. The ceremony marked the beginning of the new academic year. The Principal of DPS Patiala, Mr. S. N. Shukla said that such councils formed help to develop a sense of responsibility and inculcate leadership qualities in students, which is the need of the hour.


Activity: Helper's Day Activity

      Classes I-III were buzzing with creativity today as the students used their tiny hands to show their respect and love for their nannies and drivers. Class I and II students made colorful bouquet -shaped cards.The students of class III made attractive wristbands and tied them to the helpers employed in the school. They also took some for the helpers at their home.   

 Labour Day Celebrated

Delhi Public School Patiala celebrated the Labour Day by conducting a free health check-up camp for its helpers, drivers, conductors and the security staff. This initiative was successfully accomplished with the collaboration of the medical teams from Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala and Kamal Laboratories, Patiala.

On this occasion, the school Principal addressed the gathering of 75 Class IV employees and appreciated their efforts in keeping the school premises clean, secure and providing a safe transportation to the students too. A presentation on the importance of maintaining a good personal hygiene was shown to them to apprise them about the same. All employees were immunized for Tetanus by the school’s doctor Dr.Rishma Kohli.


International Astronomy Day

The "International Astronomy Day" was observed at the Thapar University on the 29th of April 2017. A varied array of events was organised by the Department of Astronomy - including Astronomy Quiz, Presentation on the formation of Universe, Model Making and Telescopic View of Jupiter. 13 Science enthusiasts from DPS participated in the Quiz and the model making event. There were 10 participating schools from Patiala.

Inspiring presentations on the Universe were given by the Head of the Departments (Astronomy) of the prestigious Punjabi University, Patiala and Punjab University, Chandigarh, which was an eye-opener for the student delegates. 

It was a moment of pride when the model of DPS Patiala was declared second in the competitive section. The model was appreciated by judges of the event. The team comprising of 5 students namely - Sukhveer Singh (X), Dhiraaj Malhotra (X), Chetan Jindal (X), Divjot Singh (VIII) and Aditya Garg (IX) were more than happy to bag the position.



International Dance Day (Special assembly)

Class VII Kalam presented the special assembly on the occasion of International Dance Day. The students spoke about the historical reasons behind the celebration of the dance day on an international level. The highlight of the assembly was a colourful choreography with the amalgamation of popular dance forms from the world over.

On this occasions, achievers of the school competitions for the month of April were also given away their certificates. 



 Earth Day celebrated by primary classes

To mark the EARTH DAY, a host of activities were enjoyed by the little ones at Delhi Public School, Patiala.  The tiny tots of class I enjoyed a colour-n-talk session with their HRT's. They filled colours on a worksheet and discussed how Mother Earth helps us and why we need to take care of her. Class II students were pampered with activities.(A maze also to be coloured and a word-building activity) The students of class III went all out at a group activity to speedily hunt and segregate biodegradable/non-biodegradable wastes. They also enjoyed word puzzle in their classrooms.All of them had an eventful day.

                                    Earth Day Carnival in Thapar University

A team of 17 students represented the school in the various contests organised by the Paryavaran Welfare Society of Thapar University. In all 14 of the 18 invited CBSE schools participated in the mega event, which was in collaboration with the District Forest Department, Patiala. After the inauguration of the event, it was a moment of pride for DPS Patiala as we were appreciated for the mega plantation drive “One Tree One Student Campaign” that was enthusiastically participated by a large number of students from every class from class I to Class X. The “Environment Hero” Award was bagged by our students – 

Eknoor Kaur of Class III - 1st Place, Keshav Singla  of Class I – 2nd  Place and Lavanya Grover of Class II – 3rd Place. The facebook page of  Paryavaran Welfare Society was flooded with the pictures of our students as they planted saplings in the vicinity of their homes and in the school campus.

A team of 2 students participated in the Group Discussion on “Effects of the Climatic Change” and Bhavsimran Kaur of Class X bagged the 2nd place. In extempore, our students were appreciated for their preparation and Balsimar Bhatia of Class X bagged the 2nd place. In poetry recitation, Sakshi of Class VIII bagged the 2nd place. Our presentation team presented an enterprising presentation on “Solid Waste Management”and bagged the 2nd place. The team members (Saksham Goyal, Rishimma, Manik Bansal, Harleen Kaur, Ayesha Gupta, Chetan Jindal) were from class VI,IX and X and did a wonderful job.The quiz team qualified and sailed through 4 rounds and finished 3rd. The overall performance in the event was spectacular.


Fruits Salad Activity

Students of Classes I-III  were more than enthusiastic to participate in the Fruit Salad Activity on the 15th of April 2017. With the help of their teachers, all the students contributed in making the salad with the seasonal fruits they had brought along. Children were told about the nutritive values of fruits and were encouraged to have seasonal fruits regularly. 

Children enjoyed the activity and had fun with their peer group too !!


Calligraphy contest 

On 15th April 2017, a calligraphy contest was organised for the students of classes IV & V. While Class IV & V made posters on the theme of "Earth Day" using their calligraphic skills, while classes VI-VIII made inspirational table-quotes for themselves, using the most attractive calligraphic styles. The best works were chosen for the excellence certificates. The results are as follows -

English Passage Reading Contest - "Lines from my favourite book..." 

On 15th April 2017, students of classes IX-X enjoyed reading out lines from their favourite books. The event attracted classics and best-selling books, that were chosen by the students to give it their best shot. The judges focussed on the book choice, the content, diction and obverall presentation of all the readers. 

The best students were selected for the excellence certificates. The results are -

Healthy Food Awareness Drive

Pre primary wing organized a “ Healthy Food Activity” for students. The activity was based on the theme of “Health and Nutrition” and was categorized in three parts: “Lemonade making” “corn Salad’ & “Fruit salad “

Baisakhi Celebration

A special assembly was organised on the occasion of the harvest festival of Baisakhi and class IX presented a colourful assembly comprising of colourful, traditional festivities. Students were reminded of the hard life and immense efforts that the farmers put in to reap a bounty harvest. The choir group presented a medley of the popular folk songs and garnered a lot of support from the entire assembly.  The colourful culmination of the assembly came with a foot-tapping Bhangra number. Students, in their traditional attire, also enjoyed a photoshoot in the wheat fields in the vicinity of the school.

Kindergarten wing celebrated Baisakhi with enthusiasm on the 13th of April.The kindergarten wing was decorated creating the ambiance of the harvest season festival. Children were told about the importance of the festival by taking them to fields..Kids were dressed  in Punjabi  traditional attires.They relished baisakhi special dishes to mark the festivity.The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the children of their rich culture and heritage.



Nature Walk

Students of classes I-III visited the nearby wheat fields to see the full-fledged crop, ready for the harvest. The teachers explained the stages of growing a crop right from ploughing to harvesting. It was a learning experience coupled with fun.

 The Kindergarten "RED" Day 

Red Day was celebrated in the kindergarten section on the 10th of April 2017. This was the first of the color days observed in the new academic session. Children came dressed in red coloured clothes adding to the brightness of their colourful classes.

The little ones also brought a red coloured fruit for their fruit break. To make the students identify all the hues of red colour, they were involved in table mat making activity, pasting deep red cherries on the mat.The children loved the activity and had fun.

Rainbow Day

The excited students of classes I,II and III were elated to participate in the Rainbow making class activity. Each section came up with a creative way of making their class rainbow, be it using hand-prints, tear & paste or even using cotton dabbing. The occasion, of course, was  the "Rainbow Day". Teachers used the occasion to let the little ones know the reason behind rainbows appearing in the sky. 

The rainbows made decked up the walls of the classrooms, much to the delight of the chirpy children.


The Advent of the 5th Academic Session at DPS Patiala

The fifth Academic Session of Delhi Public School Patiala commenced on the 3rd of April 2017. All students were given a warm and traditional welcome into the school premises, with best wishes and blessings of the faculty.

Prior to this, all the staff members led by the school Principal Mr.S.N.Shukla participated in the auspicious Hawan Ceremony organised in the newly added laboratory block of the school.All teachers including the newly inducted staff members attended the ceremony seeking the blessings of the almighty on the school, its students and the entire workforce. The school Principal, Mr.S.N.Shukla welcomed the new members of the workforce and conveyed his wishes to the entire team of DPS Patiala to put in their best to maintain the standards set by the Delhi Public School Society.
